Assessments

The assessed value of your property in the City of St. Catharines is determined by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). This assessment is used to generate property tax amounts. The total amount of taxes collected depends on a municipality's revenue needs and not on the value of the properties assessed within a municipality.

Visit MPAC to learn more about the assessment of your property, including:

  • Reading and understanding your property assessment notice
  • Types of property assessment notices
  • Comparing property values
  • How property values impact property taxes
